Our Contribution

~If I stitch fast enough does it count as aerobic exercise?~
So, our friends over at Raffia Sisters are having their biannual Scrap Camp. And as you know that we are more than just quilters, we are most certainly going and are THRILLED to be doing so!!! We love Scrap Camp and this will be our third.

However, this will be our first as Treasured Times. So, Treasured Times had to make a Scrap Camp contribution, right?
Take a couple of these newly formed guys, stick them in these awesome little needle cards, place three yoyo, three buttons, and a little rick-rack on the cardpop them in one of those awesome pillow cases then tie them up with green raffia!

Then stack! Ahhhhhh adorable! I love them! There will be one on each table for each camper coming up on the first weekend of October. I am hoping that everyone will be just as thrilled as I am with these goodies. Also, must thank the Sisters for allowing us to create these awesome goodies! Love you gals!

Well I need to get back to math.... yuck.... Have a good evening all!

Business Cards!

~Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!~

At long last, they are done! I have mastered the computer programs, managed to print them so that they are DOUBLE-SIDED, and folded them on the perforated lines so that they are now individual cards! And just in time for our Scrap Camp contribution... More on that later! Now, time for the reveal!

EEE! I like them pretty well. I got to use my photo that took forever to make look like that, and I got all the information on there in a clear, easy-to-read format! What could be better? Well, now that I think about it, if you can point out anything that IS better, just tell me! I would love to hear!!

Have a nice night folks. I am off to make tiny little yarn balls for my crochet lesson I am giving to my health class on Friday. See ya!

Website!

~Dull women have neat sewing rooms~ (I'm not dull!!)

So, we have a development! I am guessing you already have an idea, you know, looking at the title of this post. Yes my friends, we are going to have a full-fledged Treasured Times Quilting and Gifts website!

You may be thinking... well... what am I looking at now?? This is merely a blog my friends! You can't shop on a blog, now, can you? However, a wonderful website from Yahoo with a shopping cart and lots of room for items certainly lets you!

And so, the website construction begins! Like our header?

Look familiar? :) Just because we are getting a new website doesn't mean we are abandoning the blog. Quite the opposite-- we are tying into the blog.
Remember my title as photo lady? Do you know what this website MEANS for the photo lady? It means that every. single. item. must be photographed. Lucky for me I have an assistant
You remember Presley, right? Well she's a good photo lady too!
And I SUPPOSE I can give you guys a sneak peak at some of our product photos

Pretty nifty, huh? This is only a very very very very small fraction of the photos we have taken and that need to be taken, however. Don't worry, this just means that I can keep posting product photos any time I need a filler on the blog. Well, there has to be some benefit for me if I am taking all the pics! :)

Alright all, I am signing out for now. Have a lovely afternoon!

Gotta love big brown boxes

~“There is a very fine line between hobby and mental illness.” – Dave Barry~
That can't be talking about us, can it? :P
Alright, back to my title. One MUST love big brown boxes around here, because that always means NEW STUFF!!!

This shipment included lots of packing materials
I'm a fan of green, so of course I was drawn to this raffia :) We also got LOTS of tissue paper, boxes, and other such goodies. I will show you pictures later on of where these goodies have already been put to use! We're eager beavers!
But of course, no shipment would be complete unless there was fabric.
In this case, Civil War reproduction fabric! They came in gorgeous reds, greens, browns, purple, and lots of different patterns. And of course, as all quilters know, you MUST feel your fabric!Ahhhh, good quality fabric :)

Look at all the lovely brown boxes of joy! They are always so much fun to open up and poke through. Despite the fact that we actually know what is coming in them... A little refresher is always good, right?!Well all, I don't have much more to say for tonight. I am pooping out early here(I've been sick) and am already to go to bed. Might be good though, being that my first class tomorrow is at 8:40... yeah, I think I should go to bed!! Night all!

Shipment!!!!

~A day patched with quilting seldom unravels~
Yes indeedy folks we have fabric rolling in by the boxes!!!!
Bolts and bolts of beautiful, high-quality fabric, in tons of colors and styles! There were so many I don't even think I could have chosen a favorite.
We also had a box of goodies-- notions, fat quarters, patterns, that sort of thing!Waaaaay to much fun to look through! And trust me my friends, I know you will feel the same!!
Well I have only a brief little look at what all we got, but I just had to have some proof that we did have product coming in! Now all we need is to get our sewing room/store done and we can start! I am off for a camping weekend friends, so have a lovely night/morning and a great Labor Day weekend!

A look into our sewing room

~I cannot count my day complete 'til needle, thread and fabric meet.~
Well one can't sew unless they have a proper sewing room, right? Well that is what Peggy and I are up to! Treasured Times Quilting will/will not have a store front. We won't have a store on Grand Ave. or anything like that, but we WILL have a store and a place to teach quilting! However, we're doing it at Peggy's house!
We already had a fun crafting room downstairs, and of course we'll be using that! However Peggy's room, which was once a family room, is being converted into our store! That means, well, that it must be CONVERTED!
Moving furniture, finding new places to store our scrap stuff(of course we're scrapbookers!), creating beautiful displays. So, you wanna see some of my favorite pieces we've taken into the room?
This little guy will house aprons, tea towels, and all kitchen-like fabric. It's kinda fun, huh? I'm charmed by it anyway! We have to have a baby spot!! This is the changing table that Peggy's father built and was used for all of her children. Now it's going to hold Peggy's new babies-- our fabric :) That counts, right?
This is Austin's favorite piece because it can be used for anything. We don't have a specific area we want to use this guy for, but it will be perfect for fabric storage! Which, is actually what it was used for in its former life before Treasured Times! :)
Well all, as more developments in the room happen I will make sure to show you the going-ons! Have a good afternoon all!
